Judith Resnik autograph letter signed. Penned six years before her tragic death in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, letter is dated 3 November 1980. Upon NASA letterhead, Resnik's letter to one Mr. Fortson reads in full, ''Thank you for your letter. To answer your question, I believe any dedicated person who perseveres toward a goal can be successful and achieve personal satisfaction with his or her accomplishments. Best wishes, Judy Resnik''. Resnik was the first Jewish woman in space, the first Jewish American in space and just the second American woman in space (after Sally Ride). Single-page letter measures 5.25'' x 8''. Small smudge to left edge. Near fine overall.
