Very rare set of three photos, each signed by the Iwo Jima Marines who famously planted the U.S. flag on the island's soil. The iconic photos, taken by AP photographer Joe Rosenthal, immortalized a moment in WWII that forever changed history. Each soldier poses individually in uniform, holding the flag he helped raise atop Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima. Signatures in blue ink, ''Ira H. Hayes / Pfc., U.S.M.C.'', ''John H. Bradley Ph.M 2/C'', and ''Pfc. R.A. Gagnon''.Black and white photos measure 8'' x 10'' with slight rippling along edges, else very good.
