Chester A. Arthur letter signed, ''C.A. Arthur'' as Vice President-elect. Upon Republican State Committee stationery, letter, dated 16 November 1880 reads in part, ''I beg to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 8th inst and to thank you for your kind congratulations.'' Single-page letter on card-style stationery measures 6'' x 9.5''. Toning, 1'' tear at top edge, separation at fold intersections and tape and pencil notations to verso. Very good condition.
