Invitation to King George IV's coronation ceremony, held 19 July 1821 at Westminster Abbey. George had already been serving as Prince Regent in his father's stead for a decade before he was ultimately crowned King himself. Invitation, numbered 3221, features an etched vignette in red, black and blue surrounded by an embossed border. Two signatures to border, ''Delamore'' and an illegible signature. Measures 10.25'' x 8.5''. A slip affixed to verso bears an earlier date, 12 July 1817 and is addressed to Mrs. Henry Pigott. Verso is signed by one S. B. Morlund. Light soiling and pinholes to fold intersections, else near fine given age.
