Gold coin issued by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in honor of "USA For Africa", the super-group whose single "We Are The World" benefited the hunger relief effort in Africa during the 1983 famine. Coin features the outline of Africa positioned atop the outline of the United States, surrounded by the text, "USA For Africa / Quincy Jones Producer / 'We Are The World' / Written by / Lionel Richie / Michael Jackson / Record of the Year 1985 / Presented February 25, 1986 / Columbia/CBS". Obverse features the iconic Grammy phonograph with NARAS name, citing gold content as .999 pure gold in one troy oz. Serial number 020 is engraved on the phonograph. Measures 1.25" in diameter and weighs 32g or 1 1/8oz. Near fine.
