Very touching J.D. Salinger typed letter signed, written to the family of a girl who recently died, a friend of his son's from school. Dated 24 April 1977, letter reads in small part, "...word of Annie's death in Rennes has left me stunned and quite wildly saddened...there can't be an Andover parent anywhere who isn't thinking of all six of you with sorrow and affection...[signed] J.D. Salinger". Toning and creasing, else near fine.
