Dwight D. Eisenhower typed letter signed as President, dated 6 August 1960 on White House stationery. Letter is addressed to Eisenhower's brother, Edgar, and discusses state versus federal rights: ''...One of the greatest obstacles we have encountered has been the reluctance of governors to take back the authority and responsibility which the Administration believes are really their's...'' Letter, signed ''D.E.'' measures 7'' x 10.25'' on one page, with two holes punched at top. Near fine condition.
