Joe DiMaggio award plaque and sport jacket from his photo shoot for ''GQ'' magazine as one of the most fashionable men in San Francisco. Shield-shaped plaque is engraved, ''Gentlemen's Quarterly Honors Joe DiMaggio As A Fashion Personality In The City Of San Francisco / In Recognition of His Individuality In Dress And His Valued Influence On The Apparel Taste Of His Community / Presented October 1965''. Tweed jacket measures 20'' shoulder-to-shoulder and 36'' in length. Overall wear with a few minor stains to exterior and light tears to the interior lining especially around the collar, else near fine. Plaque measures 10'' x 12''. Near fine. Accompanied by an original copy of the magazine and an interesting assortment of items from the jacket's pockets: (1) napkin from DiMaggio's San Francisco restaurant with the name and contact information of a California deputy sheriff written on the reverse; (2) pair of matchbooks; (3) business card from a company in Singapore; (4) woman's name and phone number handwritten on a piece of Desert Inn Las Vegas stationery. Originally from the 2006 DiMaggio auction and with an LOA signed by both of DiMaggio's granddaughters.
