The FBI Director signs on the front free endpaper, ''To Mr. & Mrs. J.W. Crossman / Best Wishes / J. Edgar Hoover / 10.11.61''. In the early 1960's, Hoover's secret counter intelligence program, aimed at communists among others, was in full swing. Minor soiling to 5.75'' x 8.5'' volume running 374 pages; moderate edge wear to original unclipped dustjacket. Overall very good.
