Longtime FBI director, J. Edgar Hoover typed letter signed, dated 1 August 1945. Hoover is celebrating a Fred Miller's tenth year of service, "…I want you to consider this key as a manifestation of my genuine appreciation and gratitude for your decade with the organization that has grown to mean so much to both of us…[signed] J. Edgar Hoover". Hoover served as FBI director for a controversial 38 years. Letter on FBI Director letterhead measures 7" x 9.25". Slight toning and small area of rippling, else near fine condition.
