Very rare Beatles contract for their 28 August 1965 concert at Balboa Stadium in San Diego, California. The concert was part of the Beatles' summer tour on their third major visit to the U.S., shortly after the release of ''Help!'' Eleven dates were played from 15 August to 31 August 1965. This interesting contract rider, between The Beatles' management company Nems Enterprises, Inc. and Henry Johnson, requires the venue to provide the Beatles with no less than 150 uniformed police officers for protection and a special drumming platform for Ringo, among other stipulations, such as the modest requirements for their trailer: ''This trailer is to have electricity and water. In all dressing rooms for The Beatles, the purchaser must provide four cots, mirrors, an ice cooler, portable TV set and clean towels.'' The rider also contains the provision that the band would ''not be required to perform before a segregated audience.'' Rider is signed on behalf of The Beatles by manager Brian Epstein, and runs three pages, each measuring 8.5'' x 10''. Some toning to contract page and staple holes in upper left corners of pages. Near fine condition.
