Lyndon B. Johnson signed first edition of his memoir ''The Vantage Point: Perspectives on the Presidency 1963-1969.'' Holt, Rinehart and Winston: New York: 1971. A Presidential bookplate bearing his signature in black felt tip ''Lyndon B. Johnson'' is affixed to the fly-leaf and features the presidential seal with LBJ's initials in gilt. Johnson here recounts his experience in executive office from his succession in the wake of JFK's shocking assassination through his second term. Runs 636pp. Bound in red cloth boards with blue print in an unclipped dustjacket. Measures 6.5'' x 9.5''. Some wear to boards and faint smell of smoke to pages. Dustjacket shows water damage with minor tears along top edge. Very good condition.
