Marilyn Monroe's first ever magazine cover while she was still the brunette Norma Jeane Baker. Working as a model, the twenty year-old Monroe appears here in the January 1946 issue of Douglas Aircraft's in-house magazine ''Airview.'' On the cover of the magazine, she's seated beside a suited gentleman inside a comfortable DC-6 airplane. She also appears in four more black and white photos inside showing off the plane's luxurious accommodations. Photos include Marilyn combing her hair in the ladies lounge and wearing a black nightgown while seated in the sleeping berth. 24pp. measuring 8.75'' x 11.75''. Light wear to edges and cover slightly loose at top staple, otherwise the magazine is in extremely well-preserved, near fine condition.
