Signed photograph of Australia's most well-known early aviator, Charles Kingsford-Smith, who made the first trans-Pacific flight from the United States to Australia in 1928. 7.75'' x 10'' photo is inscribed in the upper right by Smith, ''To the best child / Standard S. College V. School'' and signed to the lower right, ''C Kingsford Smith / Southern Cross / Palmerston North'', referencing his famous trans-Pacific plane. Signed circa 1933. Some spotting, wear and silvering to photo. Writing remains vivid. Overall in good plus condition.
