Katharine Lee Bates autograph letter signed, dated 12 June 1921 on ''Wellesley College / Department of English'' stationery, where Bates taught English. Here, Bates informs a Mr. Winslow that she has asked her publishers to send him a copy of her new book of poems, ''The Retinue,'' and that she is also including an autographed copy of her famous hymn, ''America the Beautiful.'' Letter measures 5.5'' x 8.5'' on one page, with a minor horizontal fold. Else near fine condition, with nice, clear ''Katharine Lee Bates'' signature at letter's close.
