''The New York Times'' from 2 May 1945, declaring the death of the Nazi tyrant, Adolf Hitler. Front page headlines further report Doenitz as Hitler's successor and news of the imminent fall of Berlin. Reaction to the news of Hitler's death was ''a complete lack of excitement'' according to the ''Times'' due to doubt about the report. The 40 page 16.5'' x 22.5'' newspaper features a front page article about possible peace in Europe while reporting on battles in the Pacific. Chipping to bound edge, else very good.
