Thomas Jefferson land grant signed as President, dated 7 April 1806. Here, Jefferson acknowledges that a Jacob Hauk has made payment for the "Northwest Quarter of Lot or Section Number Thirteen" in Steubenville, Ohio and thus has been granted the quarter lot of land. The document is signed "Th. Jefferson" at conclusion and is also signed by Secretary of State "James Madison." Document measures 16" x 8.5". Luxuriously matted and framed to an overall size of 49" x 27.25", with portraits and nameplates for both Jefferson and Madison. Some toning and folds throughout, with trimmed edges and one small tear at center, overall very good condition. Original blindstamped U.S. seal intact at lower left corner.
