5 May 1945 issue of ''The New York Times,'' announces ''500,000 More Surrender...'' and features a picture of the German surrender at Hamburg. One headline quotes Eisenhower stating that the enemy is ''thoroughly whipped''. The paper, which measures 16.5'' x 22.5'' and runs 28pp., also has several photos of Nazis surrendering to the Russians. Some toning and significant chipping along the left bound edge; front page is separated from binding. Overall very good condition.
