UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame medallion, awarded to Arthur Ashe as one of the charter members of the school's Hall of Fame. Ashe received a scholarship to UCLA as an undergrad in 1963, helping to lead the tennis team to an impressive number of victories before turning pro. The Hall of Fame was founded in 1984, the year this medal was awarded, to 25 charter members, including Ashe. Medal depicts the original UCLA Hall of Fame building, dedicated to a variety of the school's athletes. Oval-shaped bronze medallion reads: ''Founded in 1984 / UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame''. Medal measures 5.5'' x 4'' and is encased in a rectangular piece of Plexiglas measuring 7'' x 5''; 1'' thick. Glass is frosted in a few spots, presumably with intention. Very good to near fine. With an LOA from Ashe's widow.
