Letter by unidentified soldier addressed to his parents regarding the Union defeat of General Price. Datelined, ''Somerset [Ohio] Nov. 9th 1864,'' letter reads in part, ''...Father & Mother...Old Price has left Missouri and is move in Kansas the report is that our men have taking all of his cannon and his supply [?] and had killed some eight thousand of his men and he had disbanded the rest of them...'' 7.75'' x 12'' letter runs 2pp. written in black ink. Some toning and bleedthrough though text remains legible. Inexpertly repaired with tape to edges. Overall, good condition.
