Arthur Ashe's ''Heart of New York'' award, bestowed to the tennis legend in 1981 by the New York Heart Association. ''Steuben Glass'' heart is housed in an ornate red velvet and leather case with plaque affixed to top of box engraved: ''The New York Heart Association Presents the 1981 Heart of New York Award to Arthur Ashe / For the inspiration he has given to many other heart disease patients, by resuming a fully active and productive life-style after cardiac surgery and for his most generous efforts on behalf of the Heart Association cause.'' Glass heart measures 2.25'' x 1.5'' with two very tiny chips to bottom of glass, else near fine. Red leather box measures 4.25'' x 5'' with minor scuffing in spots. Plaque has minor tarnishing as well, else very good condition overall. With an LOA from Ashe's widow.
