Arthur Ashe's award plaque bestowed on him in 1973 by his fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi, which he joined while at UCLA. Award was presented to him in Miami Beach, Florida on 6 August 1973. Two years later, Ashe won his third Grand Slam title as the first black tennis player to win men's singles at Wimbledon in 1975. Shield-shaped plaque features a figure of a tennis player mid-serve and states it was given to Ashe, ''...In Recognition of His Superior Achievements as International Tennis Star And World Citizen''. Measures 9.5'' x 11.75''. Small chip to right side of shield and occasional bits of tarnishing to figure, else fine. With an LOA from Arthur Ashe's widow.
