Document signed by Admiral William F. Halsey while in command of the USS Saratoga in 1936. Halsey signs ''W.F. Halsey'' at the bottom right, atop a U.S. Navy stamp. Entitled ''Domain of Neptunus Rex,'' this Shellback certificate -- which commemorates a sailor's first crossing of the Equator -- is illustrated with mermaids, sea creatures and the USS Saratoga. The recipient's name, ''Charles D. Gallagher'', is printed in the center. 21'' x 13.5'' document is in very good condition with some dampstaining and chipping.
