Pair of Watergate typed letters signed by Archibald Cox and Elliot L. Richardson. (1) Cox writes on Law School of Harvard University letterhead, datelining his letter Cambridge, Massachusetts, 27 September 1974. Single-page letter to Jim Rogan reads in part, ''...President Ford has pardoned former President Nixon. I am afraid that his action will serve to keep Watergate in the front of the public ...'' Measures 8.5'' x 11''. Near fine. (2) Elliot L. Richardson typed letter signed. Upon his personal stationery, the former Nixon cabinet member, who resigned rather than obey Nixon's request to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox, writes, in part, ''Nixon's resignation was in his own, as well as the country's best interest...'' Datelined Washington, D.C., 16 September 1974, letter measures 8.5'' x 11''. Near fine.
