Large engraving of the Appomattox Courthouse surrender, titled ''The room in the McLean House, at Appomattox C.H., in which General Lee surrendered to General Grant''. Engraving features 18 men from both the Union and Confederacy, with Generals Grant and Lee at center. Produced by Major & Knapp Engraving, Manufacturing & Lithographic Co. of New York, dated 1867. Measures 32'' x 23''. Mostly uniform toning, overall very good condition.
