Silver punch bowl from the wedding of John Steinbeck. Gorgeous, gleaming silver plated bowl is engraved, ''John & Elaine'', with the date of their wedding beneath, ''December 28, 1950''. The opposite side is engraved with the wedding date and names of John Steinbeck's son and daughter in law, ''Thomas & Gail / June 10, 1995''. Bowl measures 10'' in diameter across the mouth, upon a stepped foot measuring 6.25'' in its diameter. Measures 6.5'' in height. Bears the maker's mark of Prill Silver Company. Accompanied by a Hagerty Silversmith Cloth zippered bag. Some scratching near the inscription to the younger Steinbeck and inside the bowl, else near fine. While Steinbeck books are found in collecting, seldom are his personal effects or apparel available. With an LOA from his son Thomas Steinbeck.
