College football Hall of Fame ring posthumously presented to John Outland, 2-time All American. Outland both played and coached, in addition to conceiving the Outland Award presented each year to the country's best interior lineman. 10kt gold ring features precisely cut and utterly pristine blue translucent stone framed by the words, ''NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION / HALL OF FAME''. Left side bears the image of the College Football Hall of Fame logo with ''PENN'' on top and ''T'' on bottom (for Tackle). Right side features player framed by wreaths with ''OUTLAND'' on top and ''2001'' on bottom. Engraved inside band are Outland's initials, ''JO'', and ''HJ-10k'', identifying the ring maker, Herff-Jones, and purity of gold. Weighs 29 g., or 1 oz. Comes housed inside wooden display box with glass window and blue velvet lining. Brass plaque on lid reads, ''JOHN OUTLAND / UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA''. Measures 7.5'' x 6'' x 2.5''.
