Joan Crawford typed letter signed to a fan, with her handwritten postscript signed. Letter, dated 19 June 1961, was composed on the Best Actress Oscar-winner's personal stationery just before filming her acclaimed 1962 drama ''What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?'' opposite Bette Davis. Letter reads in part, ''Dear Patricia...The children and I send our very warmest good wishes...There has been a light delay in writing my autobiography, but we are improving the book...the tentative title is 'Portrait of Joan'. I'm so happy that you saw [my daughter] Christina on 'Here's Hollywood'. She had such fun doing that show, and I thought she looked lovely. I don't believe I will be in 'Toys in The Attic'. I would like to spend the summer with my children, so I probably will not make a film until the fall...[signed] Joan''. She then handwrites, ''P.S. I hope you have a rapid recovery. J.C.'' 2pp. letter on 2 sheets measures 6'' x 7''. Crease from folding, else near fine.
