Confederate States of America President, Jefferson Davis autograph note signed. Davis writes in full, ''If you can do so permit me to assure you of the gratification it would give your very respectful friend - Jeffn. Davis''. Slip, likely cut from a letter, measures 4.25'' x 1'', affixed on left edge to slightly larger slip. Accompanied with engraving of Davis mounted to board measuring 7'' x 10.75''. Slip is bold and legible, in near fine condition.
