Very scarce early World Series trophy presented to Jack Lapp as one of the 1910 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics. Silver-plated trophy cup features a gold-plated crest of the city of Philadelphia, below which is engraved, ''Presented By / The Citizens of Philadelphia / To / John W. Lapp / World's Champions / The American Base Ball Club / of Philadelphia / Season / 1910.'' Three-handled cup bears a crossed bat and ball design in relief to another section, and the third displays a pennant of blue enamel, picturing a white elephant and the letter ''A''. Underside bears stamps of manufacturer J. E. Caldwell & Co. of Philadelphia and reads ''Silver Plate.'' Measures 8'' in height, with mouth measuring 6'' in diameter. Weighs 3.8 pounds. With expected wear including tarnishing and partial loss of the silver plating to interior, else near fine.
