Hunter S. Thompson postcard letter, dated 12 January and postmarked 1966 from San Francisco, during the time Thompson was working on ''Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs''. Postcard to his friend Paul Semonin has interesting Hell's Angels content, reading in part, ''...Tremendous pressure here on all counts. Going to Sacramento tomorrow (thurs.) for a Hells Angels funeral. Mother Miles got snuffed. Unless I run out of pills I plan to get a piece to the NY H-T for this Sunday...Random arranged it, the funeral coverage. Bike still wrecked and rusting away. Chinese landlord moving in upstairs. The end is high. What does Nation pay for book reviews? I'd like to know before I volunteer. Still plan to get there to finish up work on book, but it all depends on when they give me more money...HST'', with Thompson circling his initials in red pen. He then adds a humorous postscript, ''why didn't you tell me McGarr wanted to give me $100 a day to take photos of lighthouses?'' Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.25''. Light wear, overall very good to near fine condition.
