Hoover writes after the loss of the 1932 election, '...I have some doubt as to the desirability of my making any final statement such as you suggest...'' In the President's farewell address two months later, he warned against the ''rapid degeneration into economic war which threatens to engulf the world.'' Card style letter on White House stationery measures 7'' x 9''. Toning, else near fine condition. Original envelope included.
