Herbert Hoover autograph letter signed. Written in pencil, letter is addressed to his wife in Palo Alto, California, and contains information regarding Hoover's travels. Hoover letters are among the rarest to find, as he famously stated ''I do not write more than one letter per annum with my own hand.'' Letter reads in full: ''Mrs. Herbert Hoover / Palo Alto / California / With Allan [referring to either his son Allan, or William Allen White] leaving for Kansas City today will stop [at] Kansas City Club leaving here Sunday for Emporia stay Sunday Night William Allan [sic] White / Much Love / Herbert Hoover''. William Allen White was the Progressive leader and publisher of the Emporia Gazette, who entertained many Presidents and dignitaries whilst in Kansas. Measures 5.5'' x 8.5''. Small tear to upper left and light toning. Near fine.
