Grover Cleveland autograph letter signed regarding celebrating the 4th of July. Dated 26 June 1889, Cleveland writes on stationery from the law firm where he was employed, corresponding with a fellow attorney. Letter reads in part, ''...It seems to me that the condition of American patriotism and our national pride in all we are and all that we hold meaningful may be measured by the zeal and order with which the Fourth of July is celebrated...Grover Cleveland''. Two pages on two sheets measure 8.5'' x 10.25''. Folds, block of toning and some fading to ink, overall in good plus condition. Accompanied by a first day cover honoring Grover Cleveland, cancelled 22 May 1986 from Chicago.
