Depression era sign for the WPA - Works Progress Administration, one of the most successful programs of the New Deal that employed individuals for public works projects. Red, white and blue sign reads ''WPA / DANGER / MEN WORKING / SAFETY FIRST''. Metal sign measures 20'' x 14''. With holes for hanging. Heavy wear, and some cracking, indicating its use outside. Good condition.
