Grand Slam Finals winner's trophy won by tennis Hall of Famer Gardnar Mulloy at the 1946 U.S. National Championships, which became the U.S. Open in 1968. Mulloy won in Doubles that year with his partner Bill Talbert, a famous duo that beat Don McNeill and Frank Guernsey in a five set tiebreaker. Trophy is further engraved, "United States / National Lawn Tennis Championship / Challenge Trophy / National Championship / Doubles". With "BLACK, STARR & FROST" maker's mark on underside, as well as the Sterling mark and "80 / 24 IN." Trophy weighs approximately 11 lbs., and measures 9.25" in diameter at the base.
