Grammy nominee medal awarded to Gospel singer James Cleveland in 1991. Director of the Southern California Community Choir, Cleveland went on to win the Grammy for Best Gospel Album by a Choir or Chorus that year. Circular bronze medal is attached to a red satin ribbon and features depiction of a gramophone engraved to center which reads: ''National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences / Grammy Nominee / 1991''. Includes 8'' x 10'' black and white photo of Cleveland as well as 10pp. funeral program for Cleveland's memorial service, dated 16 February 1991. Medal, housed in black and gold box, measures 1.75'' in diameter. Program measures 8.5'' x 11''. Grammy medal is near fine.
