Golden Globe Award presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for the Best Original Song in a Motion Picture for the 1974 film, ''Benji.'' The song, ''I Feel Love,'' also known as ''Benji's Theme,'' was written by Euel Box who received the award at the 25 January 1975 presentation at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. In the film, the first in a series about a lovable stray dog, Benji is able to get the help needed to free two children who have been kidnapped. The song was recorded by country music star Charlie Rich. Statue is composed of a metal sculpture of a globe encircled by a film strip upon a decorative base mounted to a marble pedestal. The letters ''HFPA'' appear in the metal design beneath the globe. An engraved plaque mounted to the marble pedestal reads, ''I Feel Love / Best Original Song in a Motion Picture / 'Benji' / 1974 / Hollywood Foreign Press Association / #3337''. Measures 8.75'' in height and weighs 3 lb., 2 oz. Square marble base measures 3'' x 3''. Gilt finish slightly tarnished, near fine condition overall. A unique piece of Hollywood history from one of the most popular films of the 1970's.
