Gold medal from the 1966 FIFA World Cup, awarded posthumously to England trainer Harold Shepherdson, who served as trainer for 171 England International matches over the course of a thirty-year career. Medal features the FIFA logo to obverse and "World Championship / Jules Rimet Cup / England 1966" to reverse. Originally, winner's medals were only bestowed upon the 11 starters, but medals for the rest of the squad such as this one were issued later. 18 kt gold medal is stamped 0.750. Measures 2" in diameter. Weighs 3.5 ounces or 96 grams. Near fine. Accompanied by a signed England vs. Andorra World Cup Qualifier Football Match Program from 10 June 2009 at Wembley and a second printed sheet insert from the same qualifier. Sheet is signed by P. Bonnetti, G. Byrne, J. Connelly, J. Greaves, R. Hunt, G. Hurst, N. Hunter, J. Armfield, I. Callaghan, and G. Eastham, and program is signed by eight additional players. Program measures 8.5" x 11. Sheet measures 8.25" x 11.75". Near fine overall.
