Opera composer of ''The Barber of Seville'' and ''Cinderella'', Gioachino Rossini autograph letter signed, where he helps a protege by the name of Mr. Calegari. In French, Rossini writes to the composer Eugene-Theodore Troupenas: ''My good Troupnas, Mr. Calegari will hand you my epistle. I recommend him to you very warmly, he wants a word of introduction to V. Labame, do all that you can to assist my protege. Yours sincerely, Rossini''. Upon the verso Rossini addresses, ''Mr. Troupnes / Composer of Music''. Undated letter, circa 1840, measures 4.5'' x 6.75''. Trimmed with a few marginal notations, overall in very good condition.
