Attractive button from the very first Presidential inauguration in 1789, a George Washington button with ''Long Live the President'' encircling ''GW'' at center. Outer rim features a design of thirteen ovals, each with the initial of one of the 13 original states, linked together to form a circle. Stamped brass button measures 1.375'' in diameter. Some scuffing to initials at center, otherwise near fine with little rubbing. A wonderful keepsake from the infancy of the United States.
