Large bronze plaque of George Washington plated in gilt, created by sculptor and artist Raymond Ostrander Smith, well known for his design of stamps and currency notes. Circular plaque measures 12.5'' in diameter and weighs 7 lb., 14 oz. With Smith's name engraved at lower right, and also with the the foundry mark of Jno. Williams Inc. N.Y. on rim. With marks of ''1111 / C-1-'' on reverse along with wall mounts. Minor dents to edge, not impacting appearance and minor scratching to gilt. Very good condition.
