George Washington autograph note signed during the Revolutionary War, sometime during the Philadelphia Campaign in the fall of 1777. Note reads in full, ''Since writing the foregoing I find that Gabriel Shulers is not upon the Skippack Road, & therefore you will have to cross from that Road into it / yr &c. GW-n.'' Washington references Gabriel Shulers, a tax collector for Lower Salford Township, Pennsylvania, who lived on the Morris Road, which ran parallel to the Skippack Road just outside Philadelphia. Note measures 7.75'' x 2.625''. Very good to near fine condition with bold handwriting by Washington.
