King George IV signs the upper portion of a 3 December 1818 document as Prince Regent for his mentally ill father, King George III. The patent application is countersigned by Sidmouth, and protects the invention of a new machine by William Neale of Birmingham. An embossed seal on the left margin reads: ''One Pound / Ten Shillings''. Document runs three pages on card-style stationery and measures 7.75'' x 12.5'' Toning, creasing and separation along fold lines. Very good condition given age.
