''Chair in Cardiology Research'' award presented to George Burns and wife Gracie Allen. Burns and Allen were well known patrons of medical research as founders of the Burns and Allen Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai. Trophy takes the form of a literal chair, made of wood and painted emerald green with reddish brown trim. Chair is decorated allover with small symbols related to medicine including an atom, the Rod of Asclepius, Da Vinci's Vitruvian man, a microscope and an oil lamp. Artist's signature of ''Slater 88'' appears above one of the rear legs. Measures 9.75'' x 6'' x 5.5''. Weighs 1 pound, 12 ounces. Scattered crazing and chipping to finish, else near fine.
