Dwight Eisenhower 1942 autograph letter signed to his wife, Mamie, on War Department, War Plans Division, Washington, note paper. Letter reads, ''Darling, George is about to take off. I've sent you several notes in the past few days but it seemed such a fine chance to tell you again that you're the tops -- I couldn't resist it. Today 3 letters came from you -- & I'm delighted...you're feeling better. Also tell Mike [Mamie's sister] I'm all for the new niece, particularly because of the name -- Loads of love, & give G a big drink for me. I've asked him to deliver to you a bear hug in my behalf.'' He signs, ''Always yours / Ike''. Mamie Eisenhower's sister, Mabel ''Mike'' Moore named her daughter, born in 1942, Mamie Eisenhower Moore. The accompanying envelope is addressed to ''Mamie / Wardman Park''. During WWII, Mamie lived in Washington, D.C. at the Wardman Park Hotel. 3.5'' x 8'' two page letter, written in pencil, is in fine condition. Minor toning and creasing to 6.25'' x 4.25'' envelope, else very good.
