Gemini 2 flotation ball, used during the 1965 mission to help maintain buoyancy of the spacecraft, one of the objectives after the Liberty Bell 7 sank after splashdown during the MR-4 mission. Aluminum ball measures approximately 1.25'' in diameter, housed in vintage acrylic measuring 2.125'' square x 2.25'' tall, and mounted to wooden base measuring 3.5'' square. Plaque affixed to base reads, ''Gemini S/C 2 / Flotation Ball / 19 Jan 1965''. Some yellowing to acrylic, else near fine.
