Franklin D. Roosevelt invitation to his 1929 inauguration as Governor of New York. Lot consists of (1) Gold-foil engraved invitation for the event on 1 January 1929, measuring 7.75'' x 5.75''; (2) Engraved instruction card reading ''Tickets of admission will be sent upon receipt of your acceptance'', measuring 4.75'' x 3''; (3) Original envelope postmarked from Albany on 23 December 1928 to Helena Mahoney in Warm Springs, Georgia. Mahoney was FDR's personal physical therapist who helped design the treatment center at Warm Springs. Invitation and card are near fine.
