Florenz Ziegfeld typed letter signed ''Flo'', regarding his long-running Broadway extravaganza, ''The Ziegfeld Follies''. Dated 26 May 1916, in the middle of the show's twenty-plus year run, letter on Ziegfeld Midnight Frolic stationery is addressed to one Mr. C.B. Dillingham at the Globe Theatre in New York. It reads, ''My dear Charlie:- I just received your letter and will see you as soon as I get the 'Follies' on. In the meantime, please take up with Otto Kahn about the offices. We must have those large offices without fail. And I am sure that he did not mean they were going to keep that floor. Any way you can fix it with him. He called me up and told me that any letters of recommendation he sends to us, to pay no attention to them, because they are all letters that he is forced to give, and if there is anyone he is interested in, he will call us up.'' Single-page letter is matted in dark pink to an overall size of 11'' x 13.75''. Toning to paper and some fading to ink, else near fine.
