European Cup medal from the 1964-65 season commemorating the Real Madrid versus Benfica face-off in the quarter-finals. Benfica emerged victorious and went on to the final, where they were defeated by Internazionale. Silver tone medal bears the crests of Real Madrid and Benfica in enamel, alongside the European Cup in relief with U.E.F.A. logo at center. Rectangular-shaped medal has a textured reverse with only one subtle inscription, ''SIC Lisboa''. Measures 2'' x 2.5''. Weighs 49 grams or 1 and three-quarter ounces. Some scratching, else near fine.
